[04 Jul 2004|02:42am] July 3rd: Saw Fahrenheit 9/11 with Timmy and Andrew. Turned out to be really good. Not as much misleading information. Still heavily bias, but I feel that it was much more necessary then Bowling for Columbine. I just left the movie realizing that my heart is liberal but my brain and pocketbook are republican. I then went with Jared, Andrew, Molly, Autumn, Aaron, and Emily to a hooke lounge, which was cool. We then went to Shayna's hotel party and hung out with some people. That was alot of fun, cute girls and skanky girls (not fun). But I got to meet one of Jareds friends who turned out to be down to earth and really cool. I think im going to his bbq keggar tmrw night. Sounds like alot of fun. So im still confused on where I lie in the political world. Beliefs: + Im against war of all forms, unless we are being invaded, because then our lives are at risk. + Terrorism is not an everyday fear that everyone should be always conscience of, but it also isn't something we should completely ignore. + Higher security regulations in airports are a good first step, but the Patriot Act is about a 1000 steps in the wrong direction. I understand that its basis is to "secure" the country, but I think it just gives way to much power to authorities, who are, of course, innately bias or racist. + Im against abortion (except in rape or other extreme circumstance's) and the death penalty. I think the death pentaly is cruel and ridiculously outdated. + Im for flat taxing, because even though the rich have more money then the poor, targeting a select group for higher taxation is wrong. Im currently poor, and I plan on becoming comfortably rich, so take that for whatever you think it means. + Im against education for illegal immigrants, because they are illegal immigrants. Getting into the country legally would create a much better impression on the US, and reduce ethnocentrism and racism. + Im all for increasing legal immigration, because it would reduce illegal immigration, thus solving that problem, and it stimulates the economy. + Im for privatizing social security, because the current system is going to screw our generation and subsequently screw every other generation after ours. Basic social security (survival needs) should be given to all. + Im for giving welfare to the lowest 5% of our population, for needs of survival. + Basic healthcare (survival needs) should be given to all, but higher health care should be more private. + Free world trade stimulates both economy's, and has very few repercussions. Of course child labor and other such atrocities should be embargoed against. + Im for being stricter on laws against drugs, and laws in general. + Im for building larger prisons and rebuilding intercities.
